Your Instagram business page isn't listed in the drop-down menu to connect
Posts fail to be published due to a permission error.
To troubleshoot these and permission-related errors, check if the Meta requirements listed below are met.
Facebook set certain mandatory requirements that must be fulfilled to connect an Instagram business account to a third-party service like ours. These include:
π‘Β Your Instagram page should be a business account.
π‘ You must have at least one Facebook business page.
π‘ Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook business page where you are an admin.
π‘ You need to review the connection if there is such a prompt in the Linked Accounts section.

Instagram page must be a business account
Open the Instagram app on your phone.
Click on your avatar picture at the bottom right to access your account (you'll see only your posts, not the feed of who you're following).
Click on the triple bar symbol in the top right-hand corner. In the listed menu, select 'Settings and Privacy'.
Tap 'Business tools and controls'.
Find 'Switch account type'.
If it is currently a business type, you'll see two options at the bottom: 'Switch to personal account' and 'Switch to creator account'. This way, you can be sure that it is a business type.
If you see anything different, it means that your account is either creator or personal.Β To convert it to the business type, click on the appropriate option.
For additional help, watch the short video below on how to identify the type of account you have.
[TIP]Β We strongly advise checking this in the Instagram mobile app, but not on the computer, because on the desktop version, the word 'business' stands for both types: business and creator.

On the next step, click Confirm. You'll be asked to allow access to Instagram messages in Inbox, so make sure that the toggle is activated and click Confirm.
Once again, confirm the connection by clicking on the appropriate button.
Doing that will either direct you to the Instagram site or trigger a pop-up where you need to log in to the desired account.
Finally, you should see the success message.Β
π In case it doesn't happen, you should see a reason why the reconnection is not successful. It is important that you study it and work on the fix. Until the connection is reviewed, you will not be able to connect the desired Instagram page to PromoRepublic.
