How to Connect TikTok to PromoRepublic

You can now effortlessly post to TikTok through PromoRepublic. Not only can you increase engagement, but you can also organically grow followers, thereby enhancing your brand's visibility and ranking.

Connecting TikTok

Either in the calendar or in the location settings, click on Connect and tap the grey TikTok icon.

It will bring up a pop-up where you need to grant PromoRepublic access. Click on Authorise, and enter your credentials if needed. And just like that, you're connected to your TikTok Account!

Posting to TikTok

  1. Tap on Create Post.

  2. Select your TikTok Account.

  3. Upload a video, or use one from the Asset Manager.

    1. Videos must be at least 3 seconds and no more than 10 minutes. Additionally, videos should have a frame rate of 23fps iirc with a max of 60fps.

  4. Write a caption and add a thumbnail if you want.

  5. Finish by clicking Publish Now or Schedule.

Ta-da! Your first TikTok post through PromoRepublic is now live. Also, you can publish your video via the PromoRepublic app.

Labeling AI-generated content

TikTok asks creators to disclose content that is AI-generated or significantly edited with AI. You can add that disclosure directly in PromoRepublic when creating your post.

  1. Create your post and select your TikTok account.

  2. Upload your video.

  3. In the TikTok — Promotional Content block under the caption, switch on the AI-generated content toggle.

  4. Publish or schedule the post as usual.

Once the post goes live, TikTok shows the "Creator labeled as AI-generated" label on your video. You can also see the setting in the post preview in the calendar, under TikTok — Promotional Content.

👉 Please keep in mind:

  • The label cannot be removed after publishing.

  • The toggle applies to video posts only for now.

TikTok API restrictions

What does TikTok API not allow third-party services like PromoRepublic? These include:

  • Adding music, audio, gifs, photo or text overlay through PromoRepublic

  • Adding voiceovers or stitching videos

  • Adding overlay text

  • Adding video thumbnails

  • Including more than 150 characters in a video description

  • Tagging products

  • Getting audience gained/lost metrics in the Profile Performance Report

  • Separating organic and paid video metrics

👉 It means that you can't add music and voiceovers to the posts that you schedule in PromoRepublic.

Video length

The minimum video duration must be 3 seconds, and the maximum video duration is 600 seconds.

Aspect ratio

The minimum height and minimum width of the video must be 360 pixels.

Frame rate

The minimum frame rate of the video must be 23 FPS, and the maximum frame rate is 60 FPS.

👉 Does posting to TikTok via PromoRepublic impact my impressions?

  • No. The community guidelines on TikTok regarding unoriginal content do not extend to the content shared on TikTok through third-party partners, such as PromoRepublic. It's crucial to understand that the term "unoriginal content" does not encompass all content created outside of TikTok. The guideline specifically pertains to content that was originally created on a different platform or source and subsequently shared on TikTok.

Is there the option to select the audio you want when posting? Or does it need to be a video with sound already on it?

  • The sound must be a part of the video prior to posting through PromoRepublic.

How do I add subtitles or closed captioning to my TikTok videos in PromoRepublic?

  • Make sure that you add subtitles or closed captioning through TikTok's video editor before uploading the video to PromoRepublic.
