Introduction

In order to successfully connect your Facebook listing to PromoRepublic (individual pages or pages in the brand page/location page structure), there are some requirements that must be met. Make sure to check all the points listed in this article. This article will help you eliminate all possible issues if:

  • You have connected your pages before but got disconnected again.

  • You are trying to connect your Facebook listing to PromoRepublic but cannot find the page listed in the options.

  • You encounter a message 'No manageable Facebook pages were found for your user account'.

How to use this guide

  1. The settings in the points below can be found in three different places and are indicated in each point:

    • In your Facebook Personal Profile settings.

    • In the Facebook Business Page settings/on the Page itself (accessible from the Meta Business Suite and from Facebook directly)

    • In the Facebook Business Account settings (only accessible from the Meta Business Suite)

  2. If you manage your page in the Meta Business Suite, also check the additional points.

Troubleshooting methods consist of two steps: checking the general requirements and checking the page access level.

Step 1: Check the general requirements

✅ The page has an address that matches with the PromoRepublic location.

👉 Where: Facebook Business Page

☝️ If you have a brand-page/location-page structure, adding an address to the brand page is not necessary (and not possible).

  1. Log into Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.

  2. Click 'See All Profiles', then select the page you want to switch to.

  3. Then, click on the page's name in the left-side navigation (under Home).

  4. You will then see the full page. Here, click on the tab About.

  5. Under the section Contact info, you can add an address.

✅ The Facebook page is active and published.

👉 Where: Facebook Business Page

☝️If your page is published, you will see the option to temporarily deactivate or permanently delete your Page. If it is deactivated, click Reactivate.

  1. Log into Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.

  2. Click 'See All Profiles', then select the page you want to switch to.

  3. Click your page's picture at the top right of Facebook.

  4. Click Settings & Privacy, then click Settings.

  5. In the left-hand navigation, scroll down to the section 'Your Information' and click 'Access and Control'.

  6. There, you will see if your page is activated. If so, you'll see an option to deactivate it. If it is deactivated, you will need to reactivate it.

✅ The two-factor authentication is enabled for your personal Facebook account.

👉 Where: Facebook Personal Profile

☝️ If you enable the two-factor authentication after connecting our platform to Facebook, the platform will be disconnected, and the connection will need to be established again.

Since Meta is raising security standards, it is now mandatory to enable two-factor authentication for the Facebook account that is connected to a third-party service like ours in order to avoid future disconnections.

  1. From your Personal Facebook account, click your profile photo in the top right.

  2. Select Settings & Privacy >> Settings >> Accounts Center on the top left.

  3. It will open a separate tab. Click 'Password and Security' on the left to see the Two-Factor Authentication section.

  4. Next, in the pop-up window, you'll get to select the page for which you want to enable it if it's not activated yet. One of them will be your personal profile.

✅ If your page has been connected to PromoRepublic before, our Local Listings Connector (business integration) has the right permissions.

👉 Where: Facebook Personal Profile

☝️Check if you have enabled our business integration with the required permissions to push updates, retrieve insights, and/or post successfully on your Facebook page.

  1. From the Facebook account that you used to connect PromoRepublic with your Facebook page, click the profile photo at the top right.

  2. Select 'Settings & Privacy', then click 'Settings'.

  3. Click 'Business Integrations' on the left. Our Local Listing Connector should then be listed as an active business integration.

  4. Click on 'View and Edit' to check if all permissions are enabled (blue).

  5. If there are tick boxes and single pages visible, make sure to tick all of them, regardless of whether these are locations you want to connect. If there are no tick boxes and pages visible, you have done everything correctly.

✅ If you are using a dummy Facebook profile, upload a human profile picture.

Facebook constantly checks profiles for credibility. If you are using a dummy profile to avoid sharing your private information, make sure to at least set a profile picture and some general information to avoid getting blocked by Facebook.

If you manage your page in the Meta Business Suite as part of a Facebook Business Account, check the additional points below.

✅ Your Facebook account has access to the Meta Business Suite.

👉 Where: Business Account Settings

  • You can only access the Meta Business Suite if your personal Facebook profile has access to a Facebook Business Account.

  • If you want access to an existing business account, ask an admin to add you and give you access as a business admin (full control over the business account).

If you would like to set up a new Business Account, follow the steps described here.

✅ The page has been added to the Facebook Business Account as a business asset.

👉 Where: Business Account Settings

1. In the Meta Business Suite, click on the little gear icon next to the Business Account's name on the left side or on Settings on the bottom left.

2. Then, click Business Assets in the left-side menu. You will see a list of all pages that have been added to your Business Account as an asset. If you cannot find the page you want to connect to, you can add it by clicking on Add Assets on the top right.

If you don't see this button, type in the page name you need in the search bar.

3. In the next screen, select Facebook Page.

4. Then, select one of the 2 following options: add an existing Facebook page or request shared access to a Facebook page.

Add an existing Facebook Page: The page will be moved to your Business Account and your Business Account will be the owner of the page. Find the respective page and claim it.

Request shared access to a Facebook Page: The page will show up in your Business Account, but the ownership will not change. Choose this option if, for example, you want to connect PromoRepublic to the page on behalf of a client. Find the respective page.

Here, it is essential that you select Full Access to enable all functionalities and connect PromoRepublic to that page, which will bring you to the final screen. Click Request access.

✅ The two-factor authentication is enabled for the whole business

👉 Where: Business Account Settings

☝️ If you enable the two-factor authentication after connecting PromoRepublic platform to Facebook, the platform will be disconnected, and the connection will need to be established again.

Since Meta is raising its security standards, it is now mandatory for business accounts to enable two-factor authentication for every person who is part of the business account. You can enable it here:

1. In the Meta Business Suite, click on the little gear icon next to the Business Account's name on the left side or on Settings on the bottom left.

2. Click on Business Portfolio Info at the top left and move down the page to Business Options. You will see Two-factor authentication.

It will ask you to specify who needs a login code to access this business portfolio from unknown browsers: no one, admins only, or everyone.

If the requirements in Step 1 are all covered, but the issue still persists, we encourage you to check the second part of this guide about access levels.
