Manual posting to Facebook groups with the mobile app

Introduction

According to Facebook's API, automatic posting from third-party apps is available for business pages but not for groups.

☝️To share content in a Facebook Group, use the PromoRepublic mobile app. It facilitates a semi-automatic posting method for groups where you have permission to post.

You can publish posts in any group where you're a member or an administrator. Note that the post will follow the typical approval process, which might include admin approval depending on the group's settings.

Getting Started

For PromoRepublic Customers

First, download the PromoRepublic mobile app based on your phone type:

Log in using the same method as you do on your desktop, whether it's email/password or Facebook login. ☝️ It's crucial to use the same login credentials in the app that you use on the desktop to prevent any access issues. For example, if you initially used email and password on the desktop, don't log in with the Facebook option in the app, and vice versa.


After scheduling a post for a specific day and time, you will receive a notification on your phone when it's time to publish. If you are managing multiple groups, you will receive separate notifications for each group. 

For doTERRA Social Customers

As a doTERRA Social customer, ensure that you use the doTERRA Social app instead. This app is tailored specifically for doTERRA Wellness Advocates. Download the app version based on your phone type:

☝️ Log in using your doTERRA credentials: ID number and password by clicking on 'Continue with doTERRA login'.*

* There might be occasions when you do not have a doTERRA account and use doTERRA Social via email/password on the desktop. If this is the case, then you won't be able to log into the mobile app.

Posting Process

For iOS devices

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to post to Facebook groups on iPhones.

  1. Open the app, navigate to the On Hold section and find the necessary post.

  2. Click on the Publish button to start the publishing process.

  3. On the next screen, you will see 2 pop-up messages:

    • that the post caption was automatically copied, allowing easy pasting at a later stage

    • that the post was marked as published.

    🔴 It is marked so because our app can't trace the actions that you'll apply next, and if for any reason you will not proceed further, the post will be marked as published in the calendar even if it is not.

  4. Select Destination by choosing the Facebook app, after which you'll directed there.

  5. At this step, feel free to paste the caption that was prepared previously. Tap the screen, hold for a moment and paste the copy. Then, click Next at the top right.

  6. Choose the group you want to post and click Share. 

    🔴🔴🔴 Only after clicking Share will the post actually be published to your Facebook group.

For Android devices

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to post to Facebook groups on Android devices.

  1. Open the app, navigate to the On Hold section and find the necessary post.

  2. Click on the Publish button to start the publishing process.

  3. At the bottom, a notification will emerge that the post caption has been automatically copied, allowing easy pasting at a later stage.

  4. Click OK to proceed to the next step. You'll see a list of apps, and one of them should be 'Facebook groups'. 

    🔴 No worries if it doesn't give this option but 'News feed' instead, you will be able to select the group later.

  5. At this step, feel free to paste the caption that was prepared previously. Tap the screen, hold for a moment and paste the copy.

  6. On the same page, you need to select the group for which this post was scheduled.

    • To do that, click at the top left where it says 'Share to Feed'.

    • Select 'In a group'.

    • Choose the specific group and click Post.🔴🔴🔴 Only after clicking this button will the post actually be published to your Facebook group.

By following these steps, you can manage your Facebook Group postings effectively using PromoRepublic or doTERRA Social apps, depending on your site version. Remember to adhere to all group rules and seek admin approval if required.
