Add Graphic Overlays to Video

A guide on adding graphic overlays to a video on PromoRepublic; how such changes are processed before scheduling the final post.

πŸš€ You can add graphic overlays to your videos using the Graphic Editor and publish them across all your locations. This article walks you through the full process β€” from adding overlays to scheduling your post β€” including what to expect during processing and a few limitations to keep in mind.

What This Feature Does

You can add graphic overlays on top of a video using the Graphic Editor. This is designed for:

  • Branded video overlays

  • Adding text, logos, and visual elements

  • Preparing videos for publishing at scale

⚠️ This is not a full video editing tool. Timeline editing such as trimming is not supported.

πŸ“‹ Before You Start

  • Videos must be 120 seconds or shorter

  • Overlays apply to the entire video β€” you can't time them to specific segments

  • This is not a timeline editor β€” trimming is not available

  • Finalize your overlay before saving, as each save triggers video processing

Step 1

Start from a Video Asset

  • Select a video asset directly

  • Create β†’ Post β†’ Upload your videos

  • Use Existing Assets or import from your Computer

  • Select a video from the Post Ideas Library (add filtering for videos)

Once selected, click Use Asset to proceed.

Step 2

Add Graphics:

The Graphic Editor will open, where you can add and adjust your overlay elements. Note that video trimming is not available β€” only the overlay can be edited here.

Step 3

Add Overlay Elements

Add one or more overlay types:

  • Objects

  • Frames

  • Shapes

  • Logos

  • Images

  • Text

For example, to add an object from the library, click on it and it will appear on the video:

Step 4

Confirm the Overlay

Adjust the placement, alignment, and visual hierarchy. When ready, click 'Use' to apply the changes as shown on the image above.

Step 5

Schedule the Post

If the post is ready, click Schedule, then click View in Calendar on the pop-up that has appeared. Open the post preview to confirm placement and timing before publishing.

⚠️ Video rendering runs in the background β€” if the video isn't visible right away, wait a few minutes and refresh the page. There is no need to re-save or re-edit.

If needed, arrange the elements to match your intended layout and branding before the video goes live automatically on scheduled time.

πŸš€ And just like that β€” your video is branded, processed, and queued up to publish across every selected location on time.
