You can boost individual posts on your Facebook business pages to increase their value and reach. Boosting posts can help you get more reactions, shares, and comments. It also helps you reach new potential customers of your business. You can create boosted posts in the PromoRepublic interface. Please explore this step-by-step tutorial to learn how.
Once your post is ready and you selected the necessary Facebook page where it will be promoted, you'll see the Boost Post button to the right. After clicking it, you'll be redirected to the Boost setup menu. Fill out the necessary data following 3 major steps:
Campaign
Targeting
Budget
Step 1: Campaign
Choose the campaign mode: Manage My Boosting or Propose Others To Boost. Depending on the mode, further requirements and settings will differ.
🟠 Manage My Boosting. In this mode, you are the one in charge of boosting settings and payments. Boosting will be charged from your Facebook Ads Manager account and the payment method associated with it. When the post is published and moderated by Facebook, boosting will start.
🟠 Propose Others To Boost. In this mode, the post will be proposed for approval along with the boosting settings. The person who approves the post has to add their Facebook Ad account, select a payment method, and change boosting settings if needed. Boosting will start after they approve the post and Facebook moderates it.
Under Manage my boosting mode
Choose your Facebook ad account. If there is no ad account connected to your Facebook profile, you'll be redirected to the Ads Manager to create one. If there is no Facebook personal profile associated with your PromoRepublic account, you'll be asked to.
Choose a payment method. After clicking the Change button, you'll be forwarded to the billing settings of your Facebook Ads Manager. If there is no card or PayPal account on file, you'll be asked to connect one.
At this stage, you might receive the following error 'It looks like you haven’t verified permission to manage ads. Try to re-login with Facebook.' The solution is to disconnect the page to which you want to boost the post and connect it back. Then, retry to boost the desired post. If the issue persists, reach out to our support team.
Under Propose others to boost mode
all you need to do is create the name of the campaign. Click Next to proceed to the second step.
Step 2: Targeting
🟠 Under Manage My Boosting mode, you define the audience who is most likely to notice your ad. This step contains 3 sections: objective, audience and CTA.
🔸 Set the objective
Objectives help to prioritize who to show your boosted post to. Clicking on the Edit button, you'll see 4 objectives: Website Clicks, Engagement, Reach, and Video Views.
The aim is to improve post visibility and engagement, such as post likes, comments, and shares. This method allows for a quick and inexpensive way to be on top of your customer’s mind. By default, the engagement objective is selected.
🔸 Choose the audience
There are two types of audiences that you can select for the ad: people through targeting or saved audience.
If you pick 'People you choose through targeting', you must set the geo-targeting, age, gender, language, etc.
Depending on the number of pages chosen, the address field will include additional options. If one page is selected, you can:
Use the location that is set up on your Facebook page. Don't forget to select the radius, by hitting the appropriate button;
Choose the location manually including or excluding countries, cities, states, and regions, but you can't select the exact address due to the API restriction.
If several pages are selected, geo-targeting is set dynamically based on your Facebook page address. In Detailed Targeting, you can specify the interests of your audience. Just start typing, and you'll get some suggestions.
If you choose Saved audiences, you can create Saved and Custom Audiences in the Audience Manager in Facebook Ads Manager. If you have some, you'll see them in the drop-down.
🔸 Add a CTA
A CTA (call-to-action button) provides a valuable way for customers to learn more, book appointments, or make a purchase when they click it. CTA is a one-click way for people to interact with your business. Pick a button that drives the behaviour that you'd like your page visitors to take.
🔴 IMPORTANT: CTA buttons, that you can select from, depend on the boost post objective and page industry.

It is essential to add a CTA under this objective.

Below the call-to-action button, there is the link box where you should insert the URL of the website to which you want to lead your audience. If you want to include it also in the post's text, note that the URL should be the same. 🔴 If it differs, the post will fail and won't be published.
🔸 Add a dynamic field to the CTA
Our recent enhancement is that you can add a dynamic field to the CTA URL on the boosting post page.
This feature eliminates the need for manual input of all locations, making it more convenient for users. By leveraging dynamic fields from the location settings, users can easily populate values in the boosting post.
It is useful for customers with multiple locations, such as franchises. They can now dynamically populate values in the boosting post's CTA button, which redirects to the URL page of the respective franchisee. This streamlines the process of approving and posting suggested posts, saving users time and effort.
Dynamic fields that have empty values in the location settings are validated during the creation of a boosting post. What does it mean? For example, during the boosting post creation process, on the post page, empty dynamic field(s) of the selected location is displayed with the title "Empty dynamic field(s)" and actions: "Set attributes" or "Deselect location pages".
On the calendar page during boosting post creation, empty dynamic field(s) of the selected location is displayed with the title "Empty dynamic field(s)" and the action: "Set attributes".
🔴 IMPORTANT: If you choose to publish a post with an image and CTA, the image will be replaced with the preview of the CTA link, a preview of that website.
You can change or remove your CTA directly on Facebook at any time.
🔸 Boost on Instagram
It means that the post will be shown on Instagram as well. If your Instagram page is connected to your Facebook account, the ad will lead to it. If not, it will lead to your Facebook page.
🟠 Under Propose others to boost mode, it is impossible to select saved audiences as they are taken from the specific Facebook Ad Manager and the person you are suggesting the boost to might not have access to that specific Ads Manager. The person who approves a suggested boosted post can change the suggested audience to the saved custom audience that they have. The rest of the targeting section is the same for this mode.
Step 3: Budget
Click Next to proceed to the third step, where you set the budget and the time frame for your ad. This stage is the same for both modes.
It's mandatory to fill out the budget limit. The minimum should be more than $1 multiplied by the number of campaign days. The budget limit can be changed by the user with access to the Ad account.
If you want to change the currency, it can be done in Facebook Ad account settings but not in the PromoRepublic interface. If you choose Propose Others To Boost, currency doesn't matter since another person will set the budget limit and actually pay.
🟠 Once the post is published, boosting will start after Facebook moderates it. There may be some delays ranging from 10 minutes to 2 days.
It is also mandatory to fill out the Finish Boosting box. The number listed here means the number of campaign days. The post-promotion will end at the same time as it started. For example, if boosting started on January 14th at 6 pm and you want the campaign to last for 14 days, then the promotion will finish on January 24th at 6 pm.
🔴 IMPORTANT: If for any reason you want to delete the boosted post, its promotion will stop automatically.
If you suggested a boosted post for several pages and you want to edit the post settings, you'll have to make the edits on each page separately. As a workaround, delete the post with the Bulk Delete option and repeat the flow making the necessary changes.
In the Statistics section, you can monitor your boosted posts' engagement and other key metrics such as impressions, reach, reactions, click, etc.
