Introduction
With the upcoming deprecation of Reporting, we have added Google search keywords to the GBP Performance dashboard in the Analytics. This guide will help you understand how to access, analyze, and export keyword data for all your locations using the new Analytics 2.0 platform.
By leveraging the aggregated keyword data, you can optimize your online presence and enhance your business's visibility.
Now, brands can see what words are most commonly used for their brand search. Why is this important? You can see what keywords were most popular for a brand, and if needed, update your long and short descriptions in listings.
It is less important to update descriptions on a recurring basis, but people usually search for services. If people search for your brand but not a service you provide, that is an issue because your SEO setup is not good enough. Consider this a general strategy improvement.
Accessing GBP Performance
At the top left of the page, navigate to Analytics.
On the left-hand side, select GBP Performance.
On the right side, scroll down to Serches Breakdown.
How are keywords aggregated?
Keywords are aggregated across all locations to provide a comprehensive view of search terms that drive traffic to your business. This aggregation helps you understand the most effective keywords for a specific time period. Keyword query metrics are updated monthly on Google and within the platform.

Segmenting and Filtering
You can segment and filter keywords to focus on specific locations or groups of locations. The system will update the displayed keywords to reflect the selected locations.ย Using the segmenting and filtering features, you can tailor the insights to your specific needs and export detailed reports for comprehensive analysis.
You can filter out by brand, location by location, by what keywords were used for a specific location, and the volumes of the keywords used. So you can optimize and have a separate strategy for each location, a general strategy for a brand, what keywords you should include, and what services you should talk about as people search by this.
Export Details
The Search Breakdown is a part of the Google Business Profile report export, that you can easily export by clicking on 3 dots at the top right.
โญ The export file will show the top 10 keywords for each location based on search volume.
โญ Keywords may vary for each location, providing unique insights into the search behaviour in different areas.
