What is an Instagram Business Profile, and why is it needed?
Starting from 2016, Instagram has divided accounts into Personal and Business Profiles. Converting a page to a Business Profile allows you to include additional business information like a phone number, email address, physical address, and call-to-action buttons making it easier for you to connect with your customers.
Adding an Instagram Business Profile to PromoRepublic has several benefits as well. Not only does it enable direct automatic posting through PromoRepublic, but it also unlocks additional reporting metrics in PromoRepublic's reports.
How to identify what type of account you currently have?
Open the Instagram app on your mobile device and navigate to Settings, and then Account.
Here's what you will see at the bottom of the list of options.
If you have a Personal Profile, you'll see one option:
Switch to Professional Account
If you currently have a Business Profile, you'll see two options:
Switch to Personal Account
Switch to Creator Account
If you currently have a Creator Profile, you'll see these two options:
Switch to Personal Account

How do I convert my profile to an Instagram Business Profile?
Converting to a Business Profile is free and easy. Please find the detailed instructions for converting your Instagram page here. It is very essential that you don't miss a step where you need to link this Instagram business page to a particular Facebook page as guided here.
I have already converted my Instagram profile to a Business Profile, and it is already connected to PromoRepublic. Do I need to reconnect the page in PromoRepublic?
Yes. Even if your Instagram page is a Business Profile, it is now connected as Instagram Personal, but you need to connect it via the Instagram Business option. Disconnect the page as guided here and re-connect as shown below.
IMPORTANT: Upon the page reconnection, the scheduled not yet published future posts will not be published. In order not to lose them, we suggest saving the posts to the My Ideas section and then reschedule them.
What features and limitations will be available with Instagram Business Publishing?
It will allow you to start receiving additional reporting data and updated functionality such as direct publishing.
Direct publishing is limited to single-image and single-video posts. Same as for other posts, you can include @mentions and #hashtags. Stories and posts for Personal Profiles can still be published with the mobile workflow. Instagram Business publishing is limited to 25 API-published posts within a 24-hour moving period. You can utilize the First Comment option for Instagram, too! It's possible to create, schedule, and automatically post the first comment on your Instagram Business posts, available for all PromoRepublic users.
Below are the technical requirements for images, videos, and post caption that you want to publish through a third-party service as PromoRepublic. Please mind them, otherwise, posts that don't meet these technical specifics won't be published and will be marked red in the Calendar.
Caption: Maximum 2200 characters, 30 #hashtags, and 20 @tags (mentions).
Maximum file size: 8MB
Aspect ratio: Must be within a 4:5 to 1.91:1 range
Minimum width: 320 (will be scaled up to the minimum if necessary)
Maximum width: 1440 (will be scaled down to the maximum if necessary)
Height: Varies, depending on width and aspect ratio
Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no edit lists, moov atom at the front of the file.
Audio codec: AAC, 48khz sample rate maximum, 1 or 2 channels (mono or stereo).
Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.
Frame rate: 23-60 FPS.
Maximum columns (horizontal pixels): 1920
Minimum aspect ratio [cols / rows]: 4 / 5
Maximum aspect ratio [cols / rows]: 16 / 9
Video bitrate: VBR, 5Mbps maximum
Audio bitrate: 128kbps
Duration: 60 seconds maximum, 3 seconds minimum
File size: 100MB maximum
I followed all of the steps, but my Instagram posts still aren’t posting.
Please check the Facebook settings of the page connected to your Instagram Business Profile. If the audience is not set to Public, the post will fail the same way as Facebook one will. You will need to remove SocialPost from Facebook Settings and then reconnect the Instagram Business Profile with the audience set to Public.
The necessary Instagram business page is not listed in PromoRepublic's drop-down list or it says 'No Pages Available'.
Please make sure of two key requirements:
This Instagram page is indeed a Professional Account
This Instagram Business Profile is linked to a particular Facebook business page.
