Do you want to lead traffic from your social media directly to your website? It's easy! Just add a link to the post, and its preview will be automatically pulled in. Feel free to customise it if needed. Here are two examples of creating such a post in PromoRepublic.

Post with the original preview

When the post is ready, paste a URL into the text bar in addition to the caption. Once you do this, the website preview will auto-populate. When the post is published, clicking on the picture will direct you to the website destination.

If the preview doesn't populate or is incomplete, check the website settings. There is a high chance that the website was built this way, and at the creation stage, the image and short description were not specified.

You can use the Meta Sharing Debugger to see the information that is used when your website content is shared on Facebook. Just paste the link and tap Debug. You should see something similar to this:

If any of the fields are missed and you are the website owner, you might want to edit or fill out the missing information, such as title, image, description, etc. Alternatively, try customising the preview.

Post with a customised visual

When the preview auto-populates, delete it and add your own picture or a video. Please note that videos should have the correct aspect ratio - you'll be prompted about it with an alert to the right.

Also, you can:

Once the post is published, the visual won't be clickable, unlike in the first case, but only the link.
